Aunt Sara came for a visit

Anyone who knows me knows that one of my closest friends is Sara Shambo. She moved far far away to Minneapolis a few years ago and so when she comes in town it's a big deal. Vince absolutely had a blast with her, playing peek a boo and just being a shmooze. Here are some pics from our weekend celebrating Sara's birthday.

Also, Mark surprised the family by coming into town for Thanksgiving. He had a nice, long visit in town, made even longer by the over booking of his flight so he got an extra 2 days here. We love to see Mark and his God Son reconnect each time he's in town and these are some pretty cute pics too.

Vince Voted

For McCain of course....lot of good that did. None the less, he was happy to stand in line with Daddy for his first experience at the polls.

We are looking forward to our first trip out of town with our little guy as we travel to Wichita for a visit with the family. We are going in the evening so hopefully he'll snooze most of the way. Otherwise, it will be the whole family singing along to his "Clapping Hands" CD.

Let's try this again

This is now my 3rd attempt to update this blog but things keep distracting me. I'm putting up a ton of pictures of things we have done and funny pics of Vince. We have gone to Deanna Rose Farmstead the past two weekends so that Vince can swing and see the cows, chickens, pigs, ducks and horses. It's a beautiful park that is FREE! Vince is now walking behind his push toy, so I'm sure it won't be long until he's taking his steps on his own. My job has changed since the Bank's "reorganization" 3 weeks ago. I am back at the main branch on 119th and helping to manage our lease portfolio as well as work on consumer lending. I'll write more soon!

Love to all our friends and family...

Quite Advanced, If You Ask Me....

Vince continually amazes us by what he learns to do each week. He is now able to pull himself up to a stand against virtually any surface. He loves to practice this ALL DAY!!!! He is always moving and crawling now and definitely getting more difficult to control. He is turning into his own little person and it is so fun watch. He is lagging in the nap department, which makes days hard for Mimi and PapPap, but at least they are able to laugh about his never ending stamina at the end of each day. Here are some pics of our amazing little guy at 6 months.

New Babies

Aug. 1st, our friends Chris and Diane had their third child. Myla was born with little to no effort on Diane's part (I'm a little bitter 'cause Vinny didn't exactly "fall out" if you know what I mean...) but healthy nonetheless and for that we are very thankful. Here are some fun pics from the hospital. Thinking back to high school I still can't believe that Diane and I are now Moms and I am so thankful that our friendship has lasted such a long time.

Big Boy Food

Vince has adapted to real food quite well. Although a little premature, Vince has now had apples, carrots, watermelon, breakfast shake (thanks PapPap), baby cookies and baby greenbeans. He loved the apples and carrots and watermelon as well as the shake (he is his mother's son), but the greenbeans actually made him gag and toss his cookies (thus indicating he's his father's son as well). He loves anything he can suck the juice out of and we enjoy getting to see his expressions with each new flavor. We are all doing great and are enjoying our freshly painted house. Uncle Mark is now back in the US From his 12 month deployment to the middle east and we are so thankful that the time went relatively fast and that he has come home safely. We can't to see him next month!! For all of you local folk...stop by and see us anytime!!

Love to all.

Vince has teeth!!!

Yesterday marked a very big milestone for our son. He cut his first tooth! The one right next too it looks to be pretty close to coming through also. They are both on the bottom in the middle of his mouth. Our little boy is getting so big so fast. We are definitely ready to keep growing the family, but we are going to enjoy just Vince for a while longer. Thank you to everyone who helps us with him and loves him!

Here are some more fun pics for you all.

Love,
Brian Laura & Vince.

Bre got married!!!

Bre is officially Mrs. BJ Sawin!! What a fun wedding, but I think we are all sighing relief that it's finished. So much planning and running around and trying to stay positive and making sure that everyone involved was happy and felt how special the time was. Brian and I were both in the wedding and although Vince wasn't involved in the ceremony, he looked super handsome in his tux.
The 4th was pretty relaxed at our house. Brian was off work on Friday which was so nice to have an extra family day during the week. We are pretty stingy with our evenings now that Brian has to work late each night and weekends are short with him only being off on Sunday.
We took some really great pics of Vince this past week so be sure to check out his website: http://www.vincentmichaelfox.com/

He's just sooooooooooooooo big!!!

Vince continues to grow by leaps and bounds and is now starting to sit up on his own. He's good at propping himself up with his hands like a kick stand, but he has little control of side to side movement. Here are some pics of him sitting up and rolling around. We look forward to seeing all of our friends and family at Bre's wedding this weekend! Vince has a cute little tux to wear and he'll look even more like a little Brian! Hugs and kisses to everyone!

Rice Cereal....YUCK!

Vince is officially a big boy now. He went to the Dr. on Tuesday for his 4 month check up and he is 26 inches long and 16lbs, 8oz. He's in the 75th percentile for weight and 90th percentile for height. The Dr. gave us the green light to try rice cereal, so I went out and bought it that day :)
He had his first try at it and was not impressed by any means. I think the texture turned him off a bit, so we will have to keep trying until he finds a consistency that agrees with him.
We are going to Old Shawnee Days tonight for our first outing with our friends Darcy & John and Amy & Jeff since we've all become parents. There is an excellent band playing and a rumor of cheesecake on a stick. I will post pics when we get home.
Love to all.

Another big weekend....

Friday at noon we got word that Linda was going into the hospital to have the twins! They induced her in the afternoon and by 4:45 the twins were here! Chrisopher and Alexander are so beautiful and they are doing great! Alexander is still in the NICU at Overland Park Regional working on his breathing and Christopher and Linda went home on Tuesday. We are so thankful to have our family continue to grow and that everyone is doing so well.
I have some pics that I will post as soon as my wonderful husband downloads them for me.
Also, Friday night I along with two neighbors hosted a bridal shower for Bre. The big day is less than a month away and it's coming fast. She got tons of great gifts and we had amazing food and cake and games. Hopefully Bre will stop and really relish this time in her life and keep in mind that although marriage is challenging (sometimes on a daily basis) that it is totally worth it and can be considered one of your greatest accomplishments. We love you Bre and BJ and we can't wait to stand up at the altar with you.
More to come....

Big weekend.

This was a big weekend for the Fox Family. Aunt Karen, Uncle Tommy and cousin Jessica came in from Rochester, NY to visit. We got to hang out with them on Thursday night and went to the zoo all day Saturday. Vince managed to sleep through all but the last 30 minutes of being at the zoo, but still slept all night too. We had a great lunch at our house with everyone on Sunday and then had to say goodbye to them that afternoon. Matt graduated from high school on Sunday night!!! Congrats Matt, we are so proud of you! We already called JCCC and warned them about your arrival in the fall :) Brian and Vince and I all sat in the auditorium since the seating was limited in the gym. We cheered when they called Matthew Francis Fox and then ducked out since Vince was sleeping....again.
Brian, Vince and I all went to bed early to try and recover from a busy, but fun weekend. I will post pictures soon of our day at the KC Zoo.
Vince is now starting to sit up with a little help and will even stand up if you hold his arms! He's so proud of himself when he is standing and his legs get stronger everyday. We are having so much fun watching him grow up. He is starting to roll over from this stomach to his back, but hasn't tried going from his back to his stomach yet. I will post pics soon!
