It's still hot

Ok, it's hotter than all get out here in KC now and we are all looking forward to fall and cooler weather. I have been getting a nice tan on my shoulders while working on my furniture outside but Vince wants to play outside ALL the time and it's just TOO HOT!! Here are a few more pieces that I have finished and are on craigslist now. Hopefully they'll sell soon!

I am finished up Developmental Psychology this summer and have my final on Thursday. I am looking forward to having a few weeks of being home for dinner every night with our family.

Vince is so smart and blows our minds every day. He is putting sentences together and having full thoughts that require expressing all day long. :) I am still waiting to find out if I got into the Nursing Program at Research College/Rockhurst. They said it could be as long as the end of August until I hear. We would like to have more kids soon so if nursing school isn't in the cards this year then we will be actively trying to get pregnant! Brian's job is going really well and he has been one of the top salespeople for the past several months now. He just found out that they will be taking a short business trip to Las Vegas in October for the Digital Dealer convention.

Allison is spending a lot of time at our house which is awesome and Vince absolutely loves to have her there to play. Mark comes home in August for his 30 day leave and then will head back to NC with Kait until her Fall semester starts.

We have been at the neighborhood pool or in the blow up one in our back yard several times a week so Vince is sleeping hard at night which is wonderful! We are having lots of play time with Vince's friends and I'll upload pictures of that when I get home.

In and Settled

We are in our new house now and surprisingly settled for only being there a month this weekend. So settled, actually I am already exploring some re-decorating possibilities. :) Furniture painting has become one of my favorite past times and here are a few pics of what I have been up to lately. I have also started on some kitchen chairs for Mom and will do her kitchen table afterwards. I have several "little" pieces to start on after that. I got a dremmel for our anniversary. Maybe I'll ask for a palm-sander for my 30th birthday.

Vince is doing great and telling us ALL about his world lately. He loves to read Alphabet Soup (Barney) and the Clifford books and knows most of the stories by memory now. We love playing in our blow up pool in the back yard or strolling to our neighborhood pool in the evenings.

Our evenings are about to get better now because Brian's commute will be shorter! His company is moving from Shawnee Mission Parkway and Metcalf to Corporate Woods. He'll be able to go eat lunch with Vince or pick him up on his way home.

We are very thankful for the extra time at home together.

We are dying to have visitors to our new house so come visit!! We will have a house-warming party in September when it's a little more bearable to be outside. Right now it's too hot and humid to want to spend much time outside.
